and river cross sections survey
to erosion along the banks of
the Kenai River mouth.

Kenai-Kachemak Pipeline
Michael Baker Jr., Inc.
Engineers
The Kenai-Kachemak Pipeline is
currently being constructed to
transport natural gas reserves
from the lower Kenai Peninsula
to existing pipeline system in
Kenai approximately 90 miles to
the north. This route follows
the state highway system which
parallels the coastline of Cook
Inlet. The first 33 mile segment
of the pipeline system is now
under construction. Both Michael
Baker Jr., the design engineer
and owner, Northstar Pipeline
Company have contracted to
McLane Consulting, Inc. for the
survey support.

The first phase of the project
involved performing an Alaska
State Land Survey for the
municipal entitlement of 356
acres located in Cooper Landing
for the Kenai Peninsula Borough.
The second phase of project
involved the surveying and
engineering required to plat two
separate subdivisions, and the
associated access roads in the
BEAN CREEK AREA in Cooper
Landing, Alaska.

WRANGELL AREA STATE SELECTION
GROUP 486

This BLM cadastral survey
project located near Wrangell in
Southeastern Alaska was
comprised of both Rectangular
and U.S. Surveys. The
rectangular field work consisted
of 1187 chains of cadastral
survey, 257 chains of
retracement, setting 41
monuments, performing 6 ties,
running the meanders and marking
the U.S.F.S. Boundary.

involved the preparation of the
Rectangular Survey Plats and
associated Field Notes for 23
townships utilizing BLM survey
data.

Field work included establishing
two hundred eleven (211)
original monuments and two
hundred seventy-eight (278)
miles of boundary line under the
rectangular survey system
administered by the B.L.M. The
cadastral survey was completed
utilizing helicopter supported
field crews employing
conventional line of surveys
methods equipped with
the odolites and electronic
distance measuring devices to
establish corner positions.
